New York Genealogical and Biographical Society Tour

Date: February 17, 2005
Time: 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Location: New York Genealogical and Biographical Society
122-126 East 58th Street (between Park and Lexington)

Speaker: Sarah Kochav

The New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, popularly known as the "G & B," was founded in 1869. As a non-profit education institution, its purpose is to collect and make available information on genealogy, biography and history, particularly as it relates to the people of New York State. It maintains one of the principal genealogical reference libraries in the United States, publishes periodicals and books, and conducts educational programs.

For prospect researchers, the B & G offers the ideal opportunity to find new material on "legacy" donors as well as those "hidden" prospects with a complicated family history. After the tour, the Library is open until 8:00 for those who would like to conduct their own research
