- Discuss techniques for targeting information to essential purposes and using technology to improve the flow of information.
- Explore the core purpose of effective research: getting the right material into the right hands at the right time for the right purpose.
- Discuss ways to make research a strategic part of the advancement services effort, no matter how big or small your organization.
PRESENTER
Jon Thorsen is vice president of strategic solutions at Kintera Inc., the premier provider of software as a service to the nonprofit community. Previously, Thorsen spent five years at the national headquarters of the American Red Cross, where he created the development resources team. Prior to joining the Red Cross, he served as director of development research at Princeton University. A former president of APRA, he received the APRA Service Award in 1999. He is a frequent presenter at local and national conferences of APRA, CASE and AFP, and his articles on fundraising have appeared in such journals as CASE Currents, Corporate Giving Watch, Foundation Reporter, APRA Connections, and The Non-Profit Times.
