Session Description:
Real estate ownership can be a key indicator of an individual’s wealth. Learn how to research, value and estimate capacity by using public records on real estate transactions and tax assessments. Discover resources and techniques for evaluating real estate, including the caveats of tax assessments versus market value, and considerations associated with highly appreciated properties, commercial/investment properties, and multiple property ownership.

Cathy’s experience in the field of prospect research spans 17 years. As Director for Donor Relations and Research for a large five-hospital healthcare system, her responsibilities include overseeing research, prospect identification and qualification, prospect management, donor relations, stewardship and acknowledgements. Cathy began her career at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona where she established the first research department. She is one of the founding members and a past board member of the California Advancement Researchers Association (CARA). Active with APRA, she is a former board member of the APRA Foundation. She has presented multiple topics at CARA, APRA, and CASE conferences. Cathy is a co-recipient of the CARA 2001 Service Award for her contributions to the profession.
